") Skip to main content -- Home 2020 Call for Presenters Texas Education Agency Welcome! March 18, 2020 Wednesday The will be held July 23-24, 2020 at the Marriott Rivercenter in San Antonio, TX. All Title III public school district, charter school, and education service centers (ESCs) are encouraged to attend. This year's symposium will focus on increasing collaborative efforts in driving achievement of our English learners. 2020 brings new focus topics that will help provide educators with relevant and research-based information to help them better serve our state's English learners. 2020 Focus Topics: Compliance (ESSA, Title III, Part A) Engaging Partnerships (Parent, Family, Community) Innovative Approaches to Expand or Enhance Transitional Bilingual Programs that increase English learner achievement Innovative Approaches to Expand or Enhance Dual Language Immersion Programs that increase English learner achievement Innovative Approaches to Expand or Enhance ESL Programs that increase English learner achievement Best Practices that increase English Learners achievement in the Classroom Effective Early Learning Strategies English Learners with Multiple Needs The Whole Child (Social & Emotional) Instructional Approaches for Immigrant Children and Youth that increase student achievement Supporting Newcomers/Asylees/Refugees Effective Progress Monitoring of English Learners Technology for Supporting English Learners Using Data to Drive Decision Making This event is ONLY available to Title III-funded school districts/charter schools or designated ESC personnel who are funded as a Fiscal Agent who provide Title III services to a Title III-funded school district/charter school. An individual wanting to register for the Title III Symposium must be or still in a contract with a Title III-funded school district/charter school (including individuals presenting during the Title III Symposium). A “contract” can be defined as contract for employment or contracted services with a Title III-funded school district/charter school to assist in meeting requirements identified in the ESSA Consolidated Federal Grant Application under Title III, Part A. TEA cannot allow the registration of any outside consultants or vendors promoting the purchase and/or services of products or instructional strategies.
